My Top 5 Dive Essentials

If you’ve been following my diving adventures for a while, you’ll probably have noticed that I love two things: diving and anything with a little bit of marine life on it!

So, I thought I’d share the five things I genuinely wouldn’t want to dive without - from my favourite fins to the camera I use to capture all the underwater encounters.

My DiverMon Art Fins

My first dive essential has to be my DiverMon Art fins. I actually have both the long fins and the short fins, and I absolutely love them. The designs are so beautiful, and they’re incredibly popular - they regularly sell out and are restocked because they disappear so quickly!

The long fins are my go to for freediving. The short fins are brilliant for scuba diving, but I also love taking them freediving when I’m travelling. They’re so much easier to pack into a suitcase or dive bag, which makes them a really practical option for diving abroad.

My Cameras

My second essential is, of course, my cameras. Because honestly… if I see something incredible underwater and I haven’t filmed it, what was the point?! No one is going to believe me!

At the moment, one of my go to cameras is my DJI Action 5. I use it for everything from surface snorkelling to diving down to around 30 metres, and I absolutely love how well it handles the changing light underwater. It does a fantastic job of capturing the scene and helping to bring the colours back to life, so my footage looks much more natural without me having to spend hours editing it afterwards.

I also love using my Divevolk iPhone case, especially when I’m looking for those really detailed macro shots while diving. It’s brilliant for getting up close to the tiny things you might otherwise miss and when I pair it with my dive torch, I can capture incredibly high definition photos and videos with loads of detail. And then there’s my Insta360 X4, which is perfect for those completely unexpected moments. Sometimes an animal will swim right up to me without me even noticing, but the Insta360 is there capturing everything! It has been especially amazing when I’ve been snorkelling with seals. I never have to worry about missing a moment - particularly when those cheeky seals decide to sneak up behind me!

For me, having different cameras means I can capture the underwater world from so many different perspectives. Whether it’s an incredible marine life encounter, a tiny creature hiding on the reef, a beautiful underwater scene or one of those completely unexpected moments, I love being able to capture it and share the magic with everyone else.

A Good Wetsuit

A good wetsuit is an absolute dive essential, especially when you’re diving in the UK. At the moment, I have two favourites.

Fourth Element Xenos

My Fourth Element Xenos is my go to for UK diving. It’s 5 mm thick, which makes it a great option when the water is a little chillier. I also love that it’s black. When you’re doing dives such as shark dives, a lot of the companies will insist on you having a simple black wetsuit rather than something bright and colourful. It’s practical, comfortable and has become one of my favourite suits for UK diving.

Made For It

My other favourite is my Made for It wetsuit. This one is 4 mm thick, and honestly, the fit is one of my favourite things about it. It fits my body shape so well and it was actually designed with women’s bodies in mind. And then there are the colours! They have so many gorgeous, fun colours that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see on a wetsuit. If you want something a little more colourful and unique, these are definitely worth checking out.

Wallien

Another wetsuit I absolutely love is this colourful pink one from Wallien. I tend to wear this during the summer months in the UK when it’s warm enough that I don’t need a full body wetsuit, but I also love taking it abroad. Swimwear

Okay, so by this point you’ve probably figured out that I have a slight obsession with marine life designs! My current go to swimwear brand is Holuna Art, and I absolutely love her designs. My Mask & Snorkel

My final must have is my mask and snorkel. Mine is from Fourth Element, and I absolutely love this set. Having a mask that fits properly and gives me a good seal makes such a difference when I’m underwater, so this is one piece of kit I’m always happy to invest in.
